I just spent the most wonderful hour reading Natalie's blog. It's just incredible. It's hard to describe how it makes me feel. It's the next layer of fulfillment. Sometimes, especially when your life choice has included 11 children, there are times that are so unexpectedly sweet--so completely rewarding. I read Natalie's blog and just thought about how real and adorable she was. How if I just stumbled on that blog one day, I'd never be happy til I met Natalie. And she's mine. If you aren't at my stage yet, you can't know this feeling. You just really don't comprehend that the fulfillment you find in them keeps going and going. You think that if you can get them up through childhood and teenhood and college and married, you are pretty much done. Of course you know you'll love the grandkids (although you can't even picture how much!) but you see your children as a finished. Especially when you consider that they'll spend the rest of their lives with only minimal supervision from you. How will they ever stay on track? And then they keep surprising you!
I loved that blog. I love those boys, that Kevin and especially that Natalie. It's hard to step back and frankly admit that I can no longer take credit. The teacher becomes the student.
