Brian's freezing campout

One thing that always surprises me about Brian is how brave and tough he is. He went on this October campout knowing that termperatures were likely to be in the low teens. Only a few deacons attended. But then...as if that were not enough...Brian accepted Jim Palmer's challenge to walk alone in the dark at midnight for over a mile, put his name on a sign as proof that he'd done it and return. "Were you scared?" I asked. "Yes". But being brave doesn't mean not being scared. It means doing it anyway. Brian was the only one. What a boy will do to prove he can do it...and the 5 dollar reward didn't hurt, I suppose.

About Me

My photo
There are no joys to compare with family. The experiences and feeling associated with family run so deep. Little moments are filled with meaning. They are the people who know us best and who we know best and who will be forever. This blog is a collection of the experiences that we can remember--the ones that happen on earth. I think our associations began long before and maybe the best is yet to be. Brigham Young says that our mortal experience is dreary compared to what is to come. I'm glad I can't see ahead because my life is anything but dreary. These people are my light and my joy.
